Step 1: Create a replacement document

  1. To create a replacement document:
  2. Open the Docs home screen at docs.google.com on your computer
  3. Choose the choice, "Start a replacement document," and click on BlankNew.
  4. You can also create new documents from the URL docs.google.com/create.


Step 2: Edit and format

  1. To edit a document:
  2. Open a document in Google Docs on your computer
  3. Choose a word and double-click it or use your cursor to pick the text you would like to vary.
  4. You can then start editing your document.
  5. To undo or redo an action, click Undo or Redo.
  6. Note: To edit a document on a touchscreen device, sort of a Pixel Book, double-tap the document to start typing.
