Injury report Kevon Looney of Warriors suffers from a sprained ankle vs Celtics Basketball

With James Wiseman set to be sidelined with a sprained wrist, Kevon Looney was the sole traditional center on the California Warriors depth chart on Tuesday against the Boston Celtics. However, Looney suffered an injury of his own with the Celtics within the Bay Area.

During the second quarter, Looney exited the sports room after rolling his ankle. the previous first-round pick was later ruled out for the competition.

With a skinny rotation, Steve Kerr opted to deploy Juan Toscano-Anderson within the frontcourt for the soldiers. However, Boston feasted on the glass, recording 10 offensive boards within the last half on their thanks to a 111-107 convert California at Chase Center.

Following the sport, Kerr said he doesn’t expect Looney to be available for the “next few games.”

No update aside from sprained ankle. I don’t expect him to play subsequent few games. it had been a big enough sprain where it's like he are going to be out for a touch bit. We won’t know more until tomorrow. I don’t have anything to mention in terms of roster stuff. I haven’t even as long as one little bit of thought.

According to Connor Letourneau of The San Francisco Chronicle, an MRI on Tuesday night confirmed Looney’s sprain.

With Looney likely out and Wiseman’s wrist injury slated for reevaluation in 7-10 days, it's just like the Warriors are going to be without a middle for an extended run.

Even if the soldiers opted to sign a free agent big, the new addition would wish to pass six days of negative COVID-19 tests before joining the rotation. Golden State’s immediate solution is going to be an in-house option between Toscano-Anderson, Draymond Green, and Eric Paschall. Kerr will need to get creative without a real center within the rotation.

The Warriors will start their small-ball stretch with a Texas four-game road trip that features a pair of two-game series against the Dallas Mavericks and San Antonio Spurs.
