"And the more people we will get vaccinated, starting with the battlefront workers, continuing with our affiliated healthcare workers then bent the community, the higher everyone within the community is going to be," said Hugh Thomas, Rochester Regional Health's chief administrative officer.
Sandi Willsey came bent to get the shot. She did it for her mother-in-law who is 94 years old.
"It's just been tough. it has been tough for her. It's tough for everyone because we wear masks once we go [into] the house once I bring her meals or come to go to we're wearing masks. After all, we would like to guard her," said Willsey.
Willsey works as a medical caseworker for GRIPA Care Management. She knows firsthand how devastating COVID-19 is often for people.
"The youngest patient I had was a 10-month-old baby. I had a bunch of youngsters, teenagers, adults. The oldest was in their seventies. people that were very, very ill," said Willsey.
Rochester Regional Health said on Saturday that it's vaccinated quite 14,000 of its employees. The goal is to still vaccinate more and more people.
"Bottom line, we'd like a vaccine. and therefore the governor is true. once we catch on, we'd like to use it. Once 1B opens, it's pretty blight. It’s a bright line. If you're 75 years and older, you're getting an attempt," said Thomas.
