BOSTON - Ernie Boch Jr. Six mysterious envelopes, each crammed with $2,021 in cash, were left on tables in half a dozen different restaurants in and around Boston Wednesday night.
For the staff at Loretta’s Last Visit near Fenway, the cash was a welcome sight.
“She was shocked,” head Myles Kopka said of 1 of his servers. “She saw the signed copy of the release and it had been whatever, then she saw the envelope next thereto and she or he was definitely shocked.”
Written thereon envelope was a credit most New Englanders would recognize — Ernie Boch Jr.
“It was so dead that I had this concept, why don’t I'm going into Boston and hit of these different bars and provides some support,” Boch said.
Local car magnate and philanthropist Ernie Boch Jr. said he was discouraged to ascertain how establishments are struggling during these trying times.
So, he and a lover put together a travel of sorts. They hit six places in about three hours, held the service, and vanished after leaving the generous tips.
“We didn’t do social thereon, we didn’t do anything, we just wanted to travel in, hit, and done,” he explained.
Ernie Boch Jr. said he hopes that others who have the means are going to be inspired to try an equivalent.
“The folks that are serving are grappling, the bars are struggling. It’s a difficult environment. So if you'll, you ought to,” he said.
